Before images of sand and tropical trees dance around in your head, 'The Island' actually turned out to be a pimped out barge anchored in the middle of Sydney Harbour. But hey, I'm not complaining. Bar, grill, cabana seating, fairy lights- you name it, they had it. The moment we walked on board we were greeted with rows of burgers perched on a marble benchtop - a major "have we found heaven?" moment in my books.
A few drinks later, sunset over the harbour and a killer show by the british group- I definitely had no regrets dragging my sniffly nosed self away from the lazy comfort of my bed. The Island hosts regular events so if you're a Sydney local and down for a good time (lets be real, who isn't) I'd definitely recommend checking in and checking it out.
Also a note on my blogging hiatus- it's been a minute you guys! (Closer to 216 000 of them if I'm honest) but I'm back at it and i'll be real- it's exciting to be writing out in the webosphere again. I've still got a bit to get done (my very eloquent 'about' page and run-of-the-mill header isn't here to stay) but I figure actually posting is a good place to be. Until next time, i promise it won't be as long as the last.
